The TI-84 Plus CE is a graphing calculator released in Spring 2015 by Texas Instruments. It includes a 2.8 inch color screen, USB port, apps, storage, and a 1200 mAh battery.

My Calculator won’t turn on or charge

Hello! My TI-84Plus CE just completely died the other day. We tried to charge it and it shows now signs that it is charging. The screen doesn’t light up or show anything. We tried replacing the battery, and still the calculator shows no signs of turning on.

Is there anything else that we can trouble shoot?

That's unusual.

Normally I'd recommend trying a different cable but a new battery should have worked. However, occasionally replacement batteries show up dead. To test this you can try putting a friend's battery in your calculator. If your calculator turns on then the battery (and probably the cable) are bad.

You can try entering recovery mode. Put the battery in and plug in the calculator. Then hold 2nd and del while pressing the reset button on the back of the calculator. If this is a software issue then recovery mode should fix it.
