My laptop just shut down
My laptop just shut down, and after changing the charger, I think the charging port burned out. How can I find out if there's still any hope of repairing it?
Is this a good question?

is the new charger actually charging the battery? charging light coming on?

@timcanfixit Look, let me tell you a little bit about it. The original charger broke, and I bought another one on Amazon for that laptop. When it arrived, it turned out the connector was bigger than the charging port. We swapped the connector with the old charger and the new cable, and everything was fine. After a while—I don't know exactly how long—there was a short circuit sound, and it wouldn't turn on. It smelled like something was burning. The motherboard doesn't look burned, so I don't know what happened, but the power light doesn't come on.

Hi @esvinaldana
It sounds like the charger was the wrong one otherwise the connector would have fitted.
Sorry but as a component has probably been fried on the motherboard you will need to take it to a local repair shop that does circuit board level repairs.
