When you press the phone to your ear most phones turn the screen off to save power and not light up your ear.

@deluxjay this is caused by your proximity sensor. On Infinix phones you can change the settings to adjust this. Use something like this video to get into developer mode to turn the sensors off. The only other way is by changing the proximity sensor which will require a boardlevel repair.
