The screen stopped displaying an image

I already replaced the screen once and it stopped displaying an image, although this is the second screen. It's been 3 months since I replaced it and it's not displaying an image anymore after I opened it to fix the screw. I don't know if I damaged the flat cable.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I have the same problem, the screws from the hinges broke with plastic I opened the laptop to fix it but I don't get an image anymore, the laptop works with an external monitor, I also have sound but not an image, probably the cable from the screen I don't know if you have any idea, I kept inserting the cable from the screen but nothing. PLEASE HELP ME!

the screen cable (s) run thru the hinges. If they are not loose in the connector (s) it is a good chance they are damaged in the hinge since that is where your problem started.

Now I noticed that I have the image, it's just very dark, it's probably from the backlight but I don't understand how this happened, I opened the laptop many times for maintenance and there were no problems. Probably a Fuse or something burned on the motherboard

@ionutcristyan a dark image is likely caused by a backlight problem. The backlight makes the image bright. The backlight might be powered separately via a different cable. so the problem still could be a cable issue. Otherwise, it is a screen issue. On some screens you can replace the backlight or the backlight power4 supply. You just have to figure out what the problem is.

I have 2 cables that goes from mptherboard to screen first its the flatcable and then the wifi cables.

well, the cable damage is a good thought. However, it may just be loose or not fully inserted.

There may be 2 connectors - power and signal. If so, check both.

@yurimatos we will need to know the model number for your motherboard. Most likely it is a NM-D521. Just pop the bottom cover off and let's see what motherboard your computer has. Use the IdeaPad 3 Hardware Maintenance Manual to work on it. Once opened, take some good pictures and post those with your Question. That way we can see what you see.

Measure the voltage on pin 1-3 for the LED power. Pins are marked in the next image

Meter to something like 60VDC, red probe on pin of the display connector and black probe to ground. Let us know what you get.

Backlights should commonly be high voltage i.e. somewhere in the 40VDC-50VDC. If the voltage is the same as your system voltage, the boost circuit for the backlight is no longer working. That would be an issue on the motherboard. If the backlight is 0V then it is possible that you have a blown fuse (FV1) on your motherboard. If all the voltages check out ok, it is most likely your display cable that causes this.
