The SIM is either bad or the carrier/band it is programmed for is not available where you are. Best to visit the carrier you have signed up for with your phone to see if they can get you going.

Just like Abi your SIM is either bad or not for the cell carrier where you live. Beyond that the phones radio may have failed.
Again, you need expert help from the local carrier to help narrow down the problem.
