How much RAM can I install?

I have a 2006 17" MacBook Pro Intel Core Duo 2.16 GHz (MA092LLA). 1 GB of RAM came installed when I purchased my MacBook Pro.

As there are 2 slots, what is the maximum amount of RAM I can install?

You can install 2 GB of ram in your MacBook Pro because it is a Core Duo and not a Core 2 Duo. Right now you will have 2 x 512 MB sticks so you would need 2 x 1 GB sticks.
