@amyheitman based on your downstream O2 sensor question, I assume you got your Toyota scanned. Do you know what error code you got? what exact year and engine size is your Corolla?
Additionally, the downstream (after the catalytic converter) has no control over fuel use. It's only purpose is to monitor the catcon. The upstream O2 sensor before the catcon is part of the EFI system governing fuel mixtures and emissions control. Please provide background maintenance info, mileage, year and engine size as there are many questions to ask.
