Side buttons and screen will not function after screen replacement

Title says it. None of the side buttons do anything anymore. Also put new screen on it, phone powers up but not the screen. I’ve done the basic troubleshooting checking the connectors and ensure clean. Carefully switched the sensor stuff over but can’t figure out why the screen won’t come on.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Did you try to connect it to your computer? If it shows up in iTunes then restore it to see if that solves the issue. If there's data in it then back it up first.

Did the side buttons function at all before replacing the screen?

No I haven’t tried connecting to pc. Could it simply be just a software issue? Potentially of course. Is that what you’re sayin?

-no the side buttons quit before the screen swap.

-oh I made sure I was careful. I started fixing my phones ooooooh hmmm right around iPhone 8 era. This is the first time I’ve had one not work though. So 🤷‍♂️

Tried connecting to pc and found softwares like reiboot. But they only work and force recovery mode IF you can establish usb connection. Which since phone is in initial power on state, you HAVE to punch in the screen passcode to do the initial screen unlock before the usb will work when the screen is locked in the future i guess.

Maybe you torn down the interface cable or just bad connected it? It's easy to destroy those cables when doing a self-made display replacement. To recover them, you'll need a microscope.
