New Battery arrived with 100% Charge

Hi, I just bought a new battery from iFixit, and successfully replaced it on my switch. However, when I powered it on, I noticed it was at 100% charge, from what I've heard it should usually only have a nominal charge. When I booted into hekate after putting the new battery in, the stated capacity was 3701 mAh out of the designed capacity of 4310 mAh.

I did let it drop to 0% and fully charge it to initiate the calibration, but according to Hekate's battery info on my switch, that dropped the battery capacity by 3%, to 82% (3505 mAh) of the original capacity. I'm not sure if this battery is new, or if I should finish calibrating it to see what it reports.

Not as important as my question but I am unable to get my switch back open without breaking the back plate, as the head of the screw that goes into the right joy-con rail broke off, so I may not be able to check the battery again without damaging my switch.

Hi!

Could be the battery or the charge IC.

I would first use it for some time and try to calibrate it a few times and see how it goes. Otherwise, return the battery and get yourself a new one.

In the worst case, the charge IC need to be replaced (this do requires soldering).

Please let us know how it goes!
