The Wi-Fi switch on Acer Extensa laptops is only a hardware toggle. If it doesn’t work, check these points:

1. BIOS setting – Enter BIOS (F2 on boot) and confirm wireless is enabled.

2. Function key – Some models need Fn + F3 (or the key with an antenna icon) in addition to the physical switch.

3. Drivers – In Windows, check Device Manager → Network adapters. If the wireless card is disabled, right-click → Enable. If missing, reinstall the driver from Acer’s support site.

4. Power management – In Device Manager, open the Wi-Fi card properties → Power Management → uncheck “Allow the computer to turn off this device.”

5. Switch failure – If the physical slider is broken, you can bypass it in software by forcing the Wi-Fi card enabled in Device Manager or BIOS. Hardware repair would require replacing or bridging the switch contacts.
