fingerprint sensor not working after replacing screen

I have just followed the online instructions for replacing my Pixel 7 Pro Screen.

Everything went smoothly and the screen is functioning perfectly.

However, the fingerprint scanner is not. I get an error message saying "Cant use the fingerprint sensor. visit a repair provider or g.co/pixel/fingerprintunlock"

What else do I need to do to get this working?
