fan speeds not working

i have the ionic pro turbo. the only fan speed that seems to be working is the low speed and barely any air is coming out. med/high are not working. how does one fix this? am willing to take it apart. since the low speed is working it seems that the other 2 should work. please advise

I found 3 videos on YouTube by searching ionic pro turbo teardown

I have no idea if it will help. My GUESS is that the fan is controlled using PWM, which is controlled by an IC chip and a MOSFET (on the heat sink).

So, the possibilities are:

  1. Broken/loose wires to switches
  2. Bad switches
  3. Bad IC or MOSFET

Hey there, Yes, I watched those videos earlier and they helped only as far as tearing it apart (his video was shot at night/subdued lighting/bad camera). Was not helpful regarding the fan issue. I did take it all apart and did not observe any broken/loose wires. The fan does work (barely) and the speed does not respond to switching it to HIGH/MED. It is a very old unit.
