Can I swap out the SSD from my flooded MacBook into another?

Hi,

I spilled a drink on my MacBook Air while it was running and looked up just in time to see the screen go black. I was traveling and the local Mac repair shop removed the 256GB SSD card for me. I purchased a new, identical 256GB Macbook Air. Can I swap the SSD Card from the old MacBook into the new one and will it boot up off of the old one?

Thank you.

Technically as long as your new MBA is compatible, yes. But as far as the OS goes it may or may not carry -- it usually does with a Mac, but if there are too many differences the OS has to be reinstalled. As long as the old drive works, you can swap it but I'd use caution if it was exposed to the liquid as well.
