There is an electric static sound that comes from the middle of the laptop and appears to lessens when the backlight is turned on too full brightness. Is there any way to fix it?

@mordecai117 as you increase the backlight the frequency of the coil whine changes due to the demands on the coil. It's still there you just can't hear it as well :-)

This could be a design issue since your laptop is not that old to have a worn coil already. Of course, you could replace the coil and see if that fixes it, or you could apply some noise dampening material. I use a lot of hot glue for those issues whereas colleagues of mine use Silicon sealant :-)

I am not confident enough in my abilities to do make any external changes at the moment, even something as trivial as adding hot glue to the components is a little daunting as i really any afford to have anything breaking on my right now. I really appreciate your reply, but do you know of any other way that may help?

@mordecai117 sorry, not really. I can't think of anything other than keeping your backlight at a level where the whine changes.

No worries! Thank you for the insight regardless :-)
