Display with dark vertical stripes

Hello all,

Few months ago my MBP display went totally black - recently I've finally bouhgt new LCD screen (LP154WP2-TLA2), replaced it and the screen was all covered with black vertical stripes, approx. 1 pixel width (on the external display everything is perfect).

I found out that there is a recall for nvidia graphics card, but apple said that "the card is OK - it must be LCD failure". Right now I am confused, because the display is brand new (as mentioned above), so the problem should be somwhere else. Have anyone faced this kind of problem? If display signal cable was damaged could there be such effect as described?

BR,

PS: Here You can see a picture of my mbp starting up - you have to zoom in to see details: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/Hp...

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

vertical stripes are mostly caused by the ribbon cable (from mobo to screen) being damaged, check down the cable for abrasions, you could also try cleaning the gold contacts on the cable or the port on the motherboard where it plugs into, some iso alcohol would do the trick.

Thanks - I'll do that after I'll get my mac from apple - funny thing - just few minutes ago Apple Technician told me that this must be lcd failure (lcd that I've just replaced :P )
