SO it seems that my left joystick module has too much movement when it is assembled to where you can push the joystick to the edge where it no longer moves smoothly. I have checked that the PCB is aligned and screwed in properly but it still moves to the sides further than it should.

If you’re not willing to replace the joysticks, you might just need to get a new controller.
