How to replace Coolant system thermostat?

Coolant thermostat failure and need to be replaced.

  1. Let the engine cool completely.
  2. Drain some coolant from the radiator.
  3. Remove the hose connected to the thermostat housing.
  4. Unbolt and remove the thermostat housing.
  5. Take out the old thermostat.
  6. Clean the gasket surface.
  7. Install the new thermostat and gasket.
  8. Reattach the housing and hose.
  9. Refill coolant and check for leaks.
  10. Run the engine and make sure it reaches normal temperature.
