If you're trying to install DDR4 sodimm memory it won't work.
According to the specifications the laptop supports up to 16GB of DDR3L-1333MHz or DDR3L-1600 MHz (PC3L-10600 or PC3L-12800) sodimm ram in two slots i.e. 2 x 8GB
