Vertical line at display and not responsive
I have vertical lines in the display if my Kobo reader (Kobo Clara colour ) and the display is not responsive.

It sounds like someone sat or stepped on the tablet causing damage to both the digitizer and LCD/display. The only repair would be to replace both of those parts.
