The rice is a great first step, but it will not fix your phone, nor will it prevent corrosion damage which might occur later on. Use this guide to clean your phone. After that you want to check this "There is really no a surefire way to say which part is the one that gives you the problem. I would recommend that you start it systematically. Start with the easiest part, and that is the display, replace that. If your screen is absolutely black, with no faint images, I am certain that this is your problem. If it would have faint images, I would recommend to take a look at the backlight IC and coil on the logic board. That repair is a bit more difficult due to the fact that those are SMD components." It's kind of (in a very simplistic description) the LCD is your light bulb and the backlight IC and coil are your light switch. Also check this question and multiple more on here.
