Free Shipping on Domestic Orders $75+

The JVC HR-S7800U is a Super VHS and VHS video cassette recorder (VCR).

Can't find a part number or details of the loading motor belt.

I need a belt for the JVC VCR HR-S7800U (HRS7800U). The service manual lists HR-S2110T/S6700KR/S7800U/U(C) and also the HR-S4800U as having similar parts.

Anyway, I'm sure there is some square belt out there that can fit. There is a seller on eBay that claims to have a kit for $25+shipping. Since this unit only has 2 belts in it, that seems ridiculous.

Can anyone tell me what belt I need and recommend a seller?

Hi @stanl

The part number for the loading motor belt as shown in the HR-S4800U parts list (see p.5 (of 15 pdf) Item #63) is LP30005-003A

Searching for the part number is inconclusive as most show that it is NLA, but one site (see Item #7139) shows that the belt is an audio square belt 51.5mm x 1.6mm x 1.6mm, which the supplier has in stock

Perhaps search online for audio square belt 51.5mm x 1.6mm x 1.6mm to find other suppliers that may suit you better if this one doesn't suit for whatever reason.

@stanl

The HR-S7900U service manual says to use the HR-S5900U parts list - see p.4 (of 14 pdf) part #63 and #87.

It looks like they're the same part numbers for the belts that are used in the HV-S7800U model, so you may as well order a coupe of each.

Thank you. I spent so much time trying to find that information last night.

It does look like the seller you linked has a 50 Euro minimum to orders (I think. In the U.S. anyway.), but at least now I have something to start searching with.

You don't happen to have a parts list for the HR-S7900U as well, do you? I'm sure that will eventually need new belts too.

Edit: Btw, https://webspareparts.com/en-us/products... seems to be a good solution. It'll cost about $11 shipped.

Thanks. Kind of expected that since I'm pretty sure they were a year apart and from the last few years JVC built VCRs.

Tried your links fort he parts list and I get a 403/Not authorized error.

Edit: Btw, going with this instead. https://www.turntableneedles.com/Square-...

Glad someone mentioned to me that electronic-spare-parts lists the diameter where other sites, like the one at turntableneedles goes by circumference.

@stanl

Fixed the problem re the parts list and service manual documents that you couldn't access. It seems the they can't be linked in a Comment, so I've moved them to an update to my answer above.

Cheers
