How does one remove the keys to clean them ? any special tool or?

If you're talking about the sidestick, all you have to do is take out the screws from the bottom plate, remove the plate and then remove the board on the side of the keys you want to remove. Just make sure to carefully put the rubber contacts on the keys when assembling everything back together.
