Released September 20, Apple's flagship 2019 smartphone features a 5.8" OLED display, a triple-lens rear camera, and greatly improved battery life. Successor to the iPhone XS.

Why is my screen black but still responsive to touch?

I haven't dropped my phone, had it near water, or cracked it. I haven't even had it a full year yet. I put it on charge last night and this morning the screen wouldn't come on. Last time I checked battery health was 86%. I have tried force restarting it and charging it. Phone is completely responsive to touch and I can do what I need to with Siri. I've seen conflicting answers on if it's a battery issue or screen issue, can someone help?

Hi,
Since the touch-screen responds, your main issue is definitely a screen issue. Before purchasing an expensive OLED, you might try a lightning to HDMI adapter as a sanity check, it would possibly allow you to use your phone, and make a back up before diving in on the hardware side. If you have a mac, the new feature iPhone-mirroring might accomplish the same thing.
