Hi John,

I have to agree with bill that on parts like electrical switches, it's rare that we can actually fix them when they're broken; the normal repair is to just replace them. The device page does have a parts diagram that shows your switch and gives a part number for it too. Clicking on the picture of the switch brings up the information as follows:

An online search for "Makita 651922-3" brings up quite a few options for purchasing a replacement, ranging anywhere from about $23 to over $30 each. One of the first and cheapest options came up on Amazon; here's a link to it.

Amazon.com: Makita 651922-3 Switch : Tools & Home Improvement

I assume you don't need disassembly instructions since you mentioned that you've already got the switch open, but you could take lots of photos as you work and use those to create the first guide here on iFixit to that repair. It's easy, fun and you'll earn the appreciation of the repair community. There are lots of us available to help if you need assistance creating a guide; all you have to do is ask.

Good luck and let us know how it all turns out!

generally, the switch itself isn't repairable. Just replace it. If that isn't the question, then post more info and pictures.
