"Error. Press shutter release button again"

i dropped my camera in a cushioned bag and didn't think much about it as i survived a car crash with my camera. i keep getting this error, after pressing the shutter-release button repeatedly it would go back to snapping pictures.

but once i want to use the "Live" function, it starts giving me the same error again. i have taken out my lens, using manual mode, the lens & shutter are moving swiftly. it's not stuck or lodged in any weird way. but when i go to "Live" mode it freezes up again. help.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I have actually had this problem on my d3200. Roughly 8 years ago, it was dropped, and it started taking funny photos. This June, I took the lens off and manually cleaned and cycled the mirror from its up and down states. It works almost perfectly now.

I would try the above steps, but be sure to remove the battery.

Live is like a loooooong exposure. I'd guess the mirror isn't going up completely.. Do a B exposure with the lens off and check. If the mirror has a problem, examine what stops it
