How to fix the touch wheel?

The bottom randomly pulled out, mom tried to fix it by pushing it back in. Turns on but now can't use the touch wheel. Would I have to get this professionally fixed?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

It is probably a broken/loose connection.

These iPods are hard to work with, and as this guide says, "replacing the click wheel is an inexpensive but delicate repair."

Bringing it to a repair shop is the best idea to avoid damaging further components and having to spend more, unless you have prior experience repairing electronics and the correct tools to complete the repair.
