You probably have a ripped camera flex or some dirt between the connectors. You could try to disconnect the cameras again, clean the connectors with some IPA and reconnect. Be sure to check the flex cables for rips or hard fold lines.

Camera was cleaned & checked, not sure I want to go to the trouble of opening it again. Camera works fine just won’t calibrate

Did you use an original part from Apple? As long as you see an preview, when you do the calibration, make sure there are objects within your surrounding. This can be items on your desk or furniture in the room. This proces can be a bit long but just keep turning the phone until is says finished. Hope this helps.

The camera was purchased on ifixit, when I do the calibration it says Apple part . I’ve made sure there’s objects in view, it doesn’t recognize them & they are large objects. I get the same message over & over. Then it restarts & the same message appears that I need to restart & finish repair . I’ve tried this many times & it just won’t calibrate.

I took my camera to a repair business and now mine is getting the same message. The camera works great just can’t seem to locate item to calibrate on.
