Replace Button Retain TouchID?

My home button doesn’t work but my touch ID does. If I replace my home button, will I still be able to use touch ID?

While doing other repairs on the phone I will attempt to very slightly loosen the screws to see if it will change anything in the meantime the assistive touch button works.
