This is most likely a display cable issue on the left eye's LED strip. The system technically only has one "display". It takes turns drawing an image to each eye. Left eye, right eye, left eye, right eye, etc... It manages this this by selecting which eye to turn on and off. If that signal connection to the left eye is loose, it never turns off that eye when it's supposed to be drawing to the right eye, giving you that mirrored effect. You'll need to open it up and fix or replace the ribbon cable. This is the same issue that plagues all VBs, since Nintendo made the cables attach to the boards with a sticky adhesive. The adhesive is failing and the ribbon cable is falling off, basically.
