  1. Is there any aftermarket options ?
  2. It isn't available in my country (Turkey)
  3. Can I just take off the battery and directly plug it into the wall ?

Hi @sarravo

Here's the maintenance and service guide, taken from this support webpage for the laptop.

Go to p.38 (p.50 of 99 pdf) to view the procedure to remove replace the battery.

Here's a supplier that may help, depending if the cost is acceptable to you of course.

Alternatively search online for 922976-855 battery and check if you find other suppliers that are more suitable.

It is not advisable to run the laptop directly on the charger without a battery installed.

When working inside a laptop, make sure that the laptop is turned off and the power is disconnected. Then disconnect the battery from the motherboard i.e. as soon as it is accessible before doing anything else. Doing this will minimize any potential electrical problems from occurring if you happen to touch anything you shouldn't. There's always power on the motherboard somewhere, even when the laptop is turned off. The power button is not a power isolating button.

Keep a jar/container nearby by place in any screws that need to be removed. Use a different jar for each set of screws removed e.g. back cover screws, battery screws so as not to mix them up or lose them.

Also wear a wrist strap connected to an earth point so as to not cause any ESD damage to any sensitive components that you may touch.

Lastly take your time. I'm sure that you'll be fine

thank you so much this is pretty much it, but I got stuck at a point. Since I'm helping a friend I don't know which battery to buy. The laptop has 2 variants the 1070 uses 16 pin and 1050 uses 12 pin one. He doesn't remember which gpu he had and searching the serial number gave us nothing too. I don't have physical access atm. All I have is model no/proID and serial number. Should I just get the 922976-855 battery (16 pin) and hope it's the correct one.

Bit confused here when you say that the 922976-855 battery is a 16 pin. Is this a typo by you?

Looking at an image of the 922976-855 online it has 12 pins and NOT 16 pins

According to the specifications, the laptop has a NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti GPU

On p.38 of the maintenance and service guide linked above it says to use battery part number 922976-855 with the above GPU.

The 1070 and 1060 uses battery part number 922977-855 ( an image online shows 16 pins)
