No service engine lite

i have a 2004 chevy suburban that service engine lite does not come on when you turn the key on and will not crank

@george7026 does any light come on when you turn the key? Is there a particular reason why you are focused on the service engine light? IF no light turns on etc, you may just have a dead battery.
