iPhone only Charging in DFU mode

Recently I replaced my battery APN of 616-0432 with a battery of APN 616-0435 and restored the phone with 5.1. The problem that I am running into is charging. When I plug in the phone it is recognized by my computer and says its charging. The only problem is that it doesn't actually charge. I have tried all kinds of chargers wall chargers, car chargers etc...

I have figured out that if I put the phone in DFU mode and charge it over night I can get the phone to charge up to about 55% on average.

My guess is that either I have a bad battery or I am running into an issue with the software rejecting the battery. Either way any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Gjon Kadeli, replace the new battery with the old one. If the problem disappear, you know that your new battery is either not the right one, or defective. Hope this helps, goo dluck

The old battery expanded and cracked the back casing. That is not an option. Might have to purchase another one.

Sorry, did not know that :-) anyhow, check some of the latest questions on here about the batteries. Looks like the 435 gives people a lot of trouble. Try a 434, I believe that is also the one that ifixit sells right here iPhone 3GS Battery At least you know ifixit seems to stand behind their products. Best of luck to you.
