Repair guides, manuals, and troubleshooting help for the FixHub Power Series | Smart Soldering Iron. Released in October 2024.

Is there documentation for the serial console

Is there any documentation for using the serial console when directly connecting the smart soldering iron to a PC?

The web console is great but not always an option if you are in an offline environment. I see that there is a basic help command but it does not seem to give much detail on individual command usage.

@jeffp96603 , we're working on the documentation. I don't have an exact date for when it will be publicly available, but we are working on it.

According to this GitHub repo, there are some very limited serial interface commands that work with FixHub and the Smart Soldering Iron: https://github.com/iFixit/FixHub

According to this FixHub Station review from Hackaday in September 2024, it's possible to access the serial interface via PuTTY: https://hackaday.com/2024/09/12/review-i...

However, if you're on Linux, then you should use minicomp in a terminal emulator session (and get the current serial interface port in use by FixHub/the Smart Soldering Iron via the WebUSB prompt in any Chromium-based browser, such as Google Chrome or Brave Browser).
