The M4 chip presentation implies each port is independent, there is no hub logic you often see in PCI based systems. Now how the chip handles the data movement between the ports is an unknown! I suspect it's direct feeds.

On back (M4):

  • Gigabit Ethernet port (configurable to 10Gb Ethernet)
  • HDMI port

Three Thunderbolt 4 (USB-C) ports with support for:

  • Thunderbolt 4 (up to 40Gb/s)
  • USB 4 (up to 40Gb/s)
  • DisplayPort

On back (M4 Pro):

  • Gigabit Ethernet port (configurable to 10Gb Ethernet)
  • HDMI port

Three Thunderbolt 5 (USB-C) ports with support for:

  • Thunderbolt 5 (up to 120Gb/s)
  • USB 4 (up to 40Gb/s)
  • DisplayPort

YES, absolutely, 3 independent buses.

For your information, I have a Mac mini M4 Pro.
