The Nintendo DSi is the third iteration in the Nintendo DS line, and made its debut in Japan in late 2008.

Buttons not working past the first screen

My dsi has been sitting not being used for a few years now, i recently booted it up because i want to get my old pictures off of it. I turn it on and can get past the first "touch screen to start" screen but after that i can't navigate or anything, shoulder buttons still work because a popup shows up when i click them.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@dan0 yeah ill grab one

Yeah, if it’s complete frozen in the menu, you can try a safe boot and try to update the system. This may work sometimes!!

Hi!

Based on the comments, I’ll write an answer.

It does look like that the touchscreen failed and need a replacement!

It’s not very difficult to do this!

Please let us know how it goes!

what a shame, i replaced the touch screen and it's still unresponsive. thanks for the suggestion though

That is strange. Then it's either in the software or something is broken on the motherboard it self. Are you sure the ribbon cable is all connected fine (all the way in)??
