Hey, the slot were the games go into is most likely damaged or needs to be cleaned. If you look in the slot, there is a door that needs to be lifted up and you can see the pins that read the game.

Shine a light into the slot and see if any of the pins are bent out of position or they have a green color corrosion over them.

If you see corrosion, then you can clean it with a nail file. Just be careful, so you do not bend the pins.

Hi my DSI had the same problem, so did my sister's but hers is fixed. All she did was shake her DSI and then clean the slot with a tissue. It didn't work for mine sadly

Try putting a clothing tag in the game slot alongside the game. Yes, it does work, but it may take a few tries. It seems like it would break it more, I know, but I swear this happened to me and this was my solution.

whats a clothing tag?

*sweatdrop*

Um...sometimes clothes have those tags that are connected by little plastic tabs. Just, if you keep trying to get the game to work, putting slight pressure alongside the game card helps.

this is the only one here that helped me

Did yours have blended pins or was it just dirty?

Try spray compressed air in the slot. There may be dust bunnies inside.

I think DSI causes issues sometimes in reading games. You have to try it again and again and hopefully, it will help.

it could be dust in the slot. try using a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol in the slot. if that does not work, take it to a repair shop or if you know how to repair it, buy a replacement game card slot.

One possible solution is to clean the contacts on both the game cartridge and the DSi console using a soft, dry cloth. This can help remove any dirt or debris that may be interfering with the connection.
