Why is screen black, when plugged in/out battery beeps

My Acer Aspire 3, is working fine until suddenly when I switched it on the charging indicator is working. A beep sound comes on when I plugged charger in or when unplugged the power, I hear sound. I tried using external display but no display. Could it be battery or serious hardware failure.
