Removing scratches from the back?

I got a iPod nano for 10$ and it does work, but it is scratched up like mad on the back

Is there anything i can try to to remove some, if not all of the scratches?

Nick, what I do with the older back plates is to use some buffing compound and a buffing wheel. This usually removes most scratches Depending on how deep they are). Your Nano is a bit small and tough to hang on to, so be careful if you use a wheel. Otherwise you will have to buff it by hand. Hope this helps, good luck.

Most of them are the light ones that are pretty typical on shiny back iPods, a few lighrt scratches

Yes, they should buff out.

i'll have to try it and get a case to avoid this again, although it's commonplace, i do want to keep it minimal

Thanks for accepting my answer. Yes, a case would be good, since they do get banged up quite a bit. Good Luck.

this one has dings on the faceplate from being dropped, and scratches too, pretty clear old owner, who was a friend never used a case
