Why is my psp not charging?

I found my original psp 1001, the battery that came with it would not charge. I recently purchased a battery pack from ifixit. I am having the issue that when I charge it within the psp, the amber light shows up now. Before with the original battery, I could not even get the amber light to show when plugged to the charger. Now, with the new battery, when I plug in the charger, it charges for a brief moment, sometimes maybe even 45 seconds to a minute then the light cuts off. I am trying to figure what is the issue, is it the psp, the charger, or the charging cord?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi!

When you turn on your PSP while it's still on the charger, what does it say about the battery (in Settings > battery information)?

It could be that the new battery is faulty and that you need to ask for a new one.

Please let us know what the PSP is telling you!

Thanks!

Okay, at this moment I would return the battery and ask for a new one. Just to be 100% sure it's battery related or not... If it's still not working, then it is motherboard related.
