The only way to clear a check engine light is to fix the problem that is causing the light to turn on.
Get the vehicle's OBDII port scanned using a appropriate scan tool and check what DTC codes (diagnostic troubleshooting codes) are being shown.
The code will tell you what the problem is.
You can cause serious damage to the engine or the transmission if you keep driving with a check engine light on.
