Ordering a replacement screen in Canada

I was curious about my ability to use the calibration tools when ordering a replacement display in an unsupported country?

I'm in Canada, and I have a US<>CAN shipping service I use frequently to order US items that don't directly ship to Canada. So getting the display should be no issue. But I wasn't sure if I would have problems using the tools to calibrate the display.

Has anyone in Canada used the tools? People mention running them through a VPN, but I just wanted to confirm if anyone's actually done that successfully.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Good question! I think you'll need to use a VPN which has a US IP address to make sure it goes as intended.

If you do try to get it to work with a Canadian IP and it works let us know! Otherwise its the VPN.

Just deciding whether it's worth the risk (as the screen is a really pricey part).

My only worry is that even with a VPN, i will still get shut down on account of the serial number being potentially visible to Apple as a Canadian device.

I'm just trying to read around a bit on what the worst case scenario is if the tool doesn't work. If it's only losing true tone than I'm mostly OK with that - but if there are issues with local dimming zones, then that will make the screen essentially useless to me.
