Why cant I go into picture taking mode (stylus-7030)

ok so I gave my brother my newly gotten Olympus and when he got it, he dropped it. after that I didn't know if it had broken or not, so I just put it on my desk. after a month I started actually looking at it and the mettle on the lens was bent and it would not close. I tried turning it on when I was done charging it and it would only turn on when I plugged it in. After that it would only be on the library mode.

@inku46980 that is caused by the camera trying to either extend or retract the lens. Since it is bend, it can't do that and it turns off. Try the suggestions from this site If those don't work, you need to consider replacing the lens.

There are no guides for this as of yet. I would suggest that you look through the devices on here Olympus Camera and check which one "sort of" looks like yours" Luckily, these are all very similar in the way they come apart. You just have to work slow and be careful in removing parts.

While you work on your camera, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has a device with the same issues as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
