iPhone 3G showing not chargeing and overheating
iphone 3g not charging. but showing red light icon but not turn on n overheating.. pls suggest me whether to change battery or ic power supply??

Hi rajah,
The issue might be related to the battery which might be old or bad/defective.
That you cannot turn on the iPhone could be linked to a low voltage of the internal battery since the battery does not fulfill the minimum capacity that would make it possible to switch on the iPhone.
I would replace the battery and try it again. If this doesn't help, I would check the sync cable. A defective cable can sometimes be the reason why the battery is not charged in the first place.
