Changed battery for OEM, still no power?

Hi, I'm having an issue with getting this Series 2 Controller to turn on. I ordered a replacement OEM battery from Microsoft and replaced it myself.

When I seat the boards back onto the bottom half of the controller it turns on and acts normal for about 10 seconds, then it proceeds to shut off. No buttons can turn it back on and when I plug it in via USB or seat it on its docking station it sits unresponsive with no lights.

When I plug the boards into the USB without seating it on the back half with the battery's it works fine and stays on. There seems to be an issue when seated to the battery.

Has anyone else had this issue or know of possible causes?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi Ashton!

My guess is that this didn't happened with the old battery, right?

It just sounds like that the replacement battery is faulty. Return it and ask for a new one OR get a refund.

Sorry, yes this was happening with the old one which is why I replaced it. I'm starting to suspect it's the I/O board and may think the battery is overheating?

No problem! Well that changes it! It could be the I/O board or the motherboard. (my guess it's the I/O board causing this). You can buy the parts here: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/325680306...
