turn up volume for cheap fix. Not great though, have you been playing very loud sounds prior to this occurrence?

@aaronvare this could be caused by your speakers, your audio amp or your settings. You did not tell us what OS you are using. I assume it's a version of Windows. That would make it a settings or software issue. For that, check what Microsoft is recommending for Windows settings on here

If your settings are all proper etc. then it is most likely hardware. For that, you will have to disassemble your computer and to either replace the speakers or check the motherboard for bad components in the audio circuitry. For that we will need to know what exact model your motherboard is. To work on your laptop use the HP EliteBook 745 G5 Maintenance And Service Guide Page 58 will show you how to work on your speakers.

If any of this is to complex you may just have to opt for a pair of decent USB speakers :-)

Hi Aaron,

Going off of the little information you've given us, I'd advise you to first try increasing your volume to see if that works. If the issue remains, I'd advise you to let us know and tell us what you've been doing before this issue happened, as it could be a speaker fault or insufficient power delivery being provided to the speakers on your HP EliteBook 745 G5.
