My Toshiba C350 TV screen will not turn on. I still hear audio

As the title says, I woke up to find my Toshiba C350 TV unresponsive. The screen will not turn on at all, but I still hear audio/vocals in the background. I did the "flashlight" test, and I see picture in the background. Problem is, I don't have the patience to replace the LED backlights at the moment. Any other options outside of that?

It seems like your Toshiba C350 TV is experiencing an issue where the screen remains unresponsive, although you can still hear audio in the background. Since you've performed the flashlight test and observed a faint picture, the problem may indeed lie with the LED backlights.

Here are a few potential solutions you can consider:

  1. Power Cycle: Try unplugging the TV from the power source for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, power cycling can resolve minor technical glitches.
  2. Factory Reset: If possible, perform a factory reset on your TV. This will revert all settings back to their original factory defaults, which may help resolve any software-related issues causing the screen to remain unresponsive.
  3. Check Connections: Ensure that all cables and connections, including HDMI, power, and other peripherals, are securely connected to the TV. Loose connections can sometimes cause display problems.
  4. Check for Software Updates: Check if there are any available software updates for your Toshiba C350 TV. Updating the firmware can sometimes address software bugs or compatibility issues that may be causing the problem.
  5. Professional Repair: If the above steps don't resolve the issue and you're not inclined to replace the LED backlights yourself, consider contacting Toshiba customer support or a professional TV repair service for assistance. They may be able to diagnose the problem further and provide a solution that meets your needs.

By exploring these options, you may be able to resolve the issue with your Toshiba C350 TV and restore its functionality without having to replace the LED backlights immediately.

Thank you. I've done numerous power resets, but I'm not so sure about a factory reset.

@tray20714 AI answers are not always the best. AI does hallucinate a lot on stuff it does not comprehend. This "I see picture in the background" alone rules out anything else but the backlight array. If your error would be a faulty board or even software related, no image would ever get produced. Your flashlight test would have to be negative.

Sorry but In your case, the only fix is to replace the LED strips.

I appreciate that. Yeah, my eyebrow raised, when they said "Factory Reset". I figured it was just an internal hardware problem, once I did my diagnosis ( faulty LED strip). Thank you
