Right channel a bit louder if used stereo input

Hi guys. I have my old Alesis MultiMix 4 USB mixer behaving a bit weird - if I use any of the first two mono channels - everything works as expected.

But if I plug a stereo signal into inputs 3+4 which is a stereo input pair - right channel is a little louder than left. And that is also visible on the LED meter. It can be fixed by shifting balance knob a little, but something is definitely wrong. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
