Instax SQ6 does not open

Hello,

I have an Instax SQ6 (square pictures) and it won't turn on anymore.

The last time I used it, I put it on the table, but it tilted on the camera lens and I wasn't able to close it, so I gently pushed on the lens to close it, that worked.

But now it won't turn on again. I changed the battery and it still won't open. Their is no connection: the lights won't turn on, nor the camera lens. I tried to find a place to repair it, but nobody could help me.

PLEASE, what should I do ? I really love this camera!

Answer this question I have this problem too

@enairaletram this "but it tilted on the camera lens and I wasn't able to close it, so I gently pushed on the lens to close it" could be the issue. I wonder if the lens is not properly seated and your camera refuses to turn on based on that. Not uncommon for cameras to do their self test and turn of/refuse to turn on based on that.

See if this will work. Open the back on the camera and remove teh film cartridge. Now GENTLY push the lens from the inside out. See if it binds. If so, you may have to consider replacing it.

Since iFixit does not yet have a guide for this, check this site. It'll show you how to get to it.

While you work on your camera, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has a device with the same issues as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
