I factory reset my second hand phone

So I found a phone in my dad's car who get got it from someone at work. I factory reset it and when I got into it, it said I need the previous password. Which we couldn't get it since the guy doesn't work there anymore. Do I need the PIN or can I do something else? It's also a tracfone
