Is the Sim card removeable?

If I take my IPad 3 to Canade can I replace the Sim card with a local Canadian carrier to avoid huge data costs?

Yes, it is

It is in a tray, look for a tray like the iPhone 4's and insert a paperclip in the hole, it will come out

You will need a MicroSIM, a tool to make your sim MicroSIM and adaptor for normal phones after and it can be done

note the 1st iPad was unlocked, i don't know about 2 or 3
